ENGIM has maintained a steady commitment in Albania to vocational education and job placement, working closely with local institutions, training centers, and community actors. Our efforts focus on strengthening the skills of young people and other vulnerable groups through training pathways, career guidance, work placement support, and social inclusion initiatives. The goal is to create concrete opportunities for personal and professional growth while helping build a training system that responds more effectively to the needs of both local communities and the labour market.
Vocational Training and Social Inclusion
The project “Vocational Training and Social Inclusion: New Perspectives for the Future of Young Albanians”, funded by the Fondazione Intesa Sanpaolo, was implemented by ENGIM Albania in collaboration with the Qendra Sociale Murialdo and the Rakip Kryeziu. The project was designed to strengthen young people’s skills and support their access to the labor market, with particular attention to those in vulnerable conditions. Through a combination of vocational training, guidance, and employment-oriented opportunities, the initiative aimed to provide practical tools that could improve participants’ autonomy, employability, and long-term prospects. Throughout the project, 202 participants took part in training and work-integration pathways, 23 trainers engaged in training sessions to improve teaching methods and skills, 260 students participated in orientation activities, 18 young people received scholarships, and 3 young people benefited from work grants that gave them their first concrete experience in the workplace.
Direzione Lavoro
“Direzione Lavoro: pathways of guidance and vocational training for women and young people in vulnerable conditions” funded by Regione Lazio (Italy), was implemented by ENGIM in Fier in 2019, in partnership with the Qendra Sociale Murialdo, and with the involvement of local institutions and organisations active in education, employment, and social inclusion. The project aimed to create more opportunities for work and social inclusion by strengthening vocational training, career guidance, and support for entrepreneurship, with a particular focus on young people and women in vulnerable situations. It combined capacity building for local operators, training activities in high-employment sectors, work-experience opportunities, and orientation services for students and jobseekers, with the broader goal of improving employability and helping participants build a more stable professional future
Facilitating Access to the Labour Market and the Creation of Enterprises in Central-Southern Albania
Facilitating Access to the Labour Market and the Creation of Enterprises in Central-Southern Albania is a three- year cooperation project implemented from 2014 until 2016, by ENGIM in partnership with the Qendra Sociale Murialdo in Fier. The project was designed to promote employment and enterprise creation for young people and adults in central and southern Albania, with special attention to disadvantaged groups, by strengthening guidance, vocational training, and entrepreneurship support systems. It was developed in collaboration with local institutions and actors in the Fier area, including the Rakip Kryeziu Agricultural Secondary School, which supported the implementation of the project thanks to its educational profiles in hydraulics, electricity, mechanics, and social services. The project aimed to reach concrete results by training at least 120 young people on self-entrepreneurship, providing reskilling opportunities to 200 workers, teachers, instructors, and public/private employees, involving 90 young people in work-experience pathways, training 5 operators on school-to-work orientation and labour mediation, establishing 1 job desk for at least 400 people per year, and enabling 21 people to access start-up grants for launching their own business.
